Welcome to the home page of the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC), a nonprofit organization serving the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington and the province of British Columbia, as well as the rest of North America. Created in 1990, the PPRC works to protect public health, safety and the environment by supporting projects that result in pollution prevention and toxics use elimination and reduction.
If you're interested in regional pollution prevention conferences, seminars, meetings, and other activities, view the Northwest P2 Calendar. Connect to the Northwest Business Assistance Network when you're looking for practical help with environmental compliance and pollution prevention. It offers air regulation fact sheets; workbooks to help with compliance and pollution prevention, specific information for the printing, wood furniture manufacturing, metal fabrication, and fiberglass fabrication industries; and more. To find out about the results of research and field demonstration projects related to a particular technology or field of study, go to the Pollution Prevention Research Projects Database, which includes fact sheets on more than 500 currently ongoing or recently completed pollution prevention research projects from all over the country. Visit the Request for Proposals (RFP) Clearinghouse, if you're looking for funding opportunities for pollution prevention research. You'll find information on many current and pending RFPs related to pollution prevention, as well as archives of past solicitations that have appeared on the site. To learn about alternative pollution prevention technologies that have been proven successful through actual research and demonstration projects, jump to the Pollution Prevention Technology Reviews. The 1996 series of reviews focused on cleaning as a part of manufacturing. Additional reviews are planned in the future. The technology reviews offer automatic connections to projects listed in the Research Projects Database, links to other relevant Internet sites and extensive bibliographies. Funding for this site is provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense's Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP), the U.S. Department of Energy, and the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable. In-kind support, including technical assistance and server space for this site, is donated by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. We are interested in your comments! We hope you will find this site informative and easy to use.
